Today's Dog-6-14-2018


Name:	Levi	Age:	Twelve years old
Gender:	Female	Breed:	Smooth Collie
Home:	Ontario, Canada
This is Levi, she's about twelve years old. The thing that makes her special to my family is that she's been with us since she was about one year old. We had adopted her from a humane society rescue in our city. The funny thing is that my mom had gone into the rescue, looked at the dogs and Levi was barking and jumping up and just going crazy. My mom asked what dog would be a good family dog, that would be friendly with kids and so the person brought my mom to Levi's cage. My mom was stunned that this dog who was acting bonkers in the cage was the perfect dog for us. Over the years we've done lots of things with her, the best is when we go camping with Levi. When we get to the campground and she gets out of the car, Levi looks around and then tries to get back into the car. Levi is a sweet dog, but she has caused us grief over the years, she would pull open the gate to the yard and escape. She has chewed so many clothes, too. But no matter what ,she always cheers us up with her playfulness, and of course she loves to cuddle on the couch or sleep on the bed. When we had first brought Levi home, she had never been loose in a house. Apparently her last owners kept her in a cage all the time, only getting out to go for walks. When we had let her loose in the house, the first thing she did was jump up on the kitchen table and look out the window. The only reason why she sleeps on our beds now is that me and my sister had encouraged her to go on the beds. The last short story about Levi, is that when she had escaped one of the numerous times, she had chased the mailman, and was barking at him. so the mailman had climbed up onto a car to get away from her. Levi has never bitten anyone out of aggression, she just barks at any male strangers. She did grow up in an all lady household. On the off chance my dad would visit, he would just see Levi to say hi when he would come get me or my sister. She gets along with our cats. but she fears other dogs, so we don't let her around other dogs, unfortunately. All in all, Levi is a majestic old pupper that me and my family love no matter what. Today's Dog-6-16-2018

Name: Spike
Age: Nine years old
Gender: MaleBreed: Miniature Pinscher
Home: Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK
 
   Spike is a very small Min Pin, he is over eight years now and still behaving like a pup from time to time! 

     As a puppy Spike used to come to work with me and met lots of friends. He also met his best mate when he went to training. He got the Kennel Club Bronze Award, and then we took him to agility classes. 

     Everyone loves Spike, and Spike loves everyone! People often say he is like a big dog in a small dog's body! He loves going for bike rides and long walks, running like a little crazy dog! 

     In this picture, he is wearing what was supposed to be a Santa beard, but as you can see, it did not really fit. The other pictures he is wearing his favourite outfit, a samurai kimono I got him when I went on holiday in Japan. It suits him so well! He is such a good boy, always willing to try new things!
